Now that I own the latest reissue, I thought I'd rip it back-to-back with the 2019 2LP/45RPM cut. Unsurprisingly, I prefer the 2LP's master, but sometimes I feel lazy and only wanna turn over a record once during its 39-minute runtime.
What I didn't expect is just how much more dynamic this one turned out to be: I threw each processed rip into the TT Dynamic Range Meter, resulting in an average of 12 for the 2LP and 9 for the 2022 version (6 for the digital master too, for those of you keeping score at home). It's truly rare something makes this much of a difference to my sub-audiophile ears, but I'm gonna have to go with the 2019 version for all future spins, even if it means standing up every 9 minutes to change sides.
